I think of one my favorite parts about photographing weddings is getting back my Holga film from the lab. I tend to work with couples who are artists themselves; dancers, photographers, graphic designers, artists, etc. It is always an honor to know that such incredibly talented humans are interested in my work and are choosing me to capture their wedding day. I wanted to share a few of my favorite Holga and Diana F+ photos from recent weddings. I typically only shoot about one-two rolls of 120 film per wedding because I have about 10 other cameras I’m shooting with too, but I always make sure to focus intently and capture Holga & Diana F+ photos that are unique and memorable.
I always tell my clients that these are likely the images you’ll end up hanging on your wall. While the digital photos and group photos with friends and family are lovely and memorable, these represent the couple in a way that is truly timeless. I love using film cameras because you only get one shot. Whether the photograph turns out is entirely up to the universe. Yes, I take great care to make sure my cameras are on the right setting and that I’ve used the right film for the lighting and environment that I’m in, but I’m still always amazed and elated when I get my film back. There is magic in film photography, and I cherish the clients that allow me to be myself as an artist when it comes to their wedding photography.
I only have a few spots left open for wedding photography this year, so make sure to reach out soon if you’re considering booking me for your wedding! You can contact me here. I’m based in Richmond, Virginia and Portland, Oregon but I’ve flown all over the world to take photographs. I’m most inspired by new locations so I’m more than thrilled to travel to you, where ever your dream wedding is meant to take place.
You can check out more of my wedding photography here. :)
